Going Bowling – All five sources have Washington winning the Pac-12, and Arizona, Oregon, Stanford USC and Utah getting to a bowl game.  Four of five have UCLA bowling, and two have each Cal and Washington State playing in the post-season.

Consensus – The only consensus was that Arizona State and Oregon State will not make a bowl.  Four of the five also have Washington playing in the Rose Bowl, the only outlier being Phil Steele who has the Huskies in the College Football Playoff.

Our Crazy Bowl Projection – Two of the sources have USC playing in the Fiesta Bowl, and three have the Trojans being let into the Murph for third time in five years to represent the Pac-12 in the Holiday Bowl.  We believe that USC will be selected by the Alamo Bowl to face a Big XII opponent.  The Alamo Bowl has the first selection from remaining teams in the Pac-12 Conference after the College Football Playoff committee selections are made.

What if we applied that to the whole conference?  What makes them crazy is that we try to make sure none of our selections have been made by any of the five sources sampled and that really limits the bowl choices.   After the bowl season, we’ll take a look back.

  • Playoff – Washington (Cotton Bowl)
  • Rose Bowl – Stanford
  • Alamo Bowl – USC
  • Holiday Bowl – Utah
  • Sun Bowl – Oregon
  • San Francisco Bowl- Cal
  • Las Vegas Bowl – Arizona
  • Cactus Bowl – Colorado
