Which ACC teams are heading to a bowl in 2015-16?

WHO IS GOING BOWLING CHALKBOARDWith Spring Football wrapped up throughout the country, we are preparing our first bowl projections for next season.  Next Monday, we’ll have projections that include which teams are going to which game.  For now, here’s the list of teams, listed alphabetically, that we think will be bowl eligible from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Atlantic Division

  • Boston College
  • Clemson
  • Florida State
  • Louisville
  • North Carolina State

Coastal Division

  • Duke
  • Georgia Tech
  • North Carolina
  • Pitt
  • Virginia
  • Virginia Tech

Last season the ACC had 11 teams that were bowl eligible, and we expect the same this year.  In fact, we think 10 of the 11 teams will return to the post-season this year, with only Miami not playing in the post-season.  The Virginia Cavaliers get to six wins despite a brutal-schedule, and take the place of the Canes.

Next Monday we’ll post our first bowl projections for next year!

A few recent ACC highlights:

  • Georgia Tech defeated both Georgia and Mississippi State last season
  • Clemson defeated Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl last year, and Ohio State in the Orange Bowl the previous season
  • Florida State won the 2014 BCS National Championship
