Yesterday, we were back at Maryvale Park for the second time on our spring training tour, to soak up some sun and watch the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Milwaukee Brewers.
First pitch temperature was a perfect 78 degrees in Maryvale, and Arizona was hot jumping out to a 6-2 lead. In Milwaukee, a heat wave brought the temperature up to a balmy 48 degrees.
Did I mention it was 48 degrees in Milwaukee? Brewer fans stayed to the end, and the Brew Crew responded, rallying to score in the bottom of the ninth to tie the score at 8-8. In the 10th inning, the home town (Maryvale) bunch pushed a run across the plate for the come-from-behind win.
Maryvale park is one of four ballparks in the Phoenix area where just ONE team has the ballpark to themselves. That allows Bernie Brewer and the Klements Racing Sausages to make Maryvale their winter home. It also means you can get the famous Klements Bratwurst at many of the concession stands.
