Bulldogs Follow Carr’s Career Day – Derek Carr threw for a career high 527 yards and 7 TDs to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a division-clinching victory Saturday. While the Bulldogs are assured a spot in the Mountain West Championship Game, they did drop to 16th in the BCS standings, behind the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Aztecs All But End Broncos Championship Hopes – The Aztecs needed a pick-six, a punt return for a TD, and an overtime to upset the Boise State Broncos Saturday night. Boise State will need to win Saturday, and Utah State will need to lose for the Broncos to return to the MWC Championship.
Aggies One Away – After starting with a new coach and losing star QB Chuckie Keeton early in the year, the Utah State Aggies are only one win or Boise State loss away from making it to the Mountain West Championship.
Huskies Win MAC West, The Northern Illinois Huskies beat the Toledo Rockets 35-17 Wednesday behind QB Jordan Lynch but also moved to No. 14 in the BCS standings ahead of Fresno State. The Huskies are now in the catbird’s seat to make a second consecutive BCS appearance, if they win out and maintain their ranking in-front of the Bulldogs.
Bulls, Falcons Set for Key Game – The Buffalo Bulls and Bowling Green Falcons are set for a huge match-up in the MAC East which will decide the division championship. The team that wins will play Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship on December 6th.
Louisiana-Lafayette Controls Destiny – If the Rajin’ Cajuns of Lafayette beat rival Louisiana-Monroe Saturday, they will bring home the Sun Belt Championship. The Cajuns just need to win one of their last two games to take the championship outright, but if they falter and lose both games, then the Arkansas State Red Wolves will be champions for the third straight year.
East Carolina, Marshall Plan for Division Title – On Friday, the Conference USA East Division will be decided by what should be a high scoring affair between the East Carolina Pirates and Marshall Thundering Herd. The game will feature two of the top QBs in the nation in Shane Carden of ECU and Rakeem Cato from Marshall. The winner will take on either the Rice Owls or Tulane Green Wave for the Conference USA Championship.
