Bulldogs Prepare For Final Games – The Fresno State Bulldogs were idle this week as they prepare for their final two games of the regular season. The Bulldogs face New Mexico Saturday in a game that could see them clinch the West Division. The Bulldogs will need to finish the season undefeated in order to have any shot at a BCS bowl game.
Aztecs Escape Warriors – The San Diego State Aztecs kept their chances of playing in the Mountain West Championship alive, narrowly defeating the Hawaii Warriors. The Aztecs got a 2-yard TD run from RB Adam Muema in overtime followed by a 4th down stop on defense to pull out the win. The Aztecs need to win their final two games, including a big one against Boise State Saturday.
Bibbs Runs Rapid – Kapri Bibbs may have been the best player in college football the last five weeks, and Saturday was no exception. Facing New Mexico, Bibbs ran for 291 yards on 38 carries and scored a Colorado State record 6 TDs on the ground. Bibbs has run for 1,010 yards and 19 TDs over the last five games, and leads the nation in rushing TDs.
Huskies Roll Over Cardinals – The Northern Illinois Huskies knocked off the Ball State Cardinals 48-27 last Wednesday night. Heisman hopeful Jordan Lynch threw for a season high 345 yards with 2 TDs to complement his 123 rushing yards and 2 scores on the ground. This week, the Huskies face the Toledo Rockets in a game that could decide the MAC West division. The Huskies sit at No. 16 in the BCS standings.
Buffalo, Bowling Green Eyeing Key Game – Though it is a week away, the Buffalo Bulls and Bowling Green Falcons are almost certain to face each other in a match-up to decide the MAC East Division race. This week, the Bulls take on the win-less Miami Redhawks while the Falcons will take on the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.
Sun Belt Wide Open – The Sun Belt conference race is wide open, with a key match-up between the Louisiana Lafayette Rajin’ Cajuns and Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday. The Rajin’ Cajuns clinch the division if they knock off the Warhawks, but could see more if they lose, the door opens for the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
Key Scenarios To Play Out in C-USA West – The West Division race is up in the air, and could see a potential tie-breaker between four teams that include North Texas, Rice, UTSA and Tulane. North Texas can win the division if they win their final two conference games. They’ll try to outrun UTSA Saturday, and can eliminate the Roadrunners from the division race with a victory.
