No. 12 UCLA (5-1) AT No.3 OREGON (7-0) The Bruins look to rebound off their first loss of the season. Quarterback Brett Hundley leads a balanced Bruins attack, accounting for 16 touchdowns, 13 through the air and another three on the ground. The Ducks will counter with the Marcus Mariota and an offense that averages 57.6 PPG. Mariota has an amazing 19 to 0 touchdown to interception ratio on the season! Key to this game could be the return of De’Anthony Thomas from an ankle injury. DUCKS DYNASTY CONTINUES 49-24.
No. 6 STANFORD (6-1) AT No.25 OREGON STATE (6-1) The Cardinal rebounded nicely last week, beating UCLA 24-10 after suffering their first loss of the season at Utah the week before. The Cardinal feature a balanced offense and a big physical defense, which they will have to rely on, to win this game. The Beavers have quietly gone about their business and built an offensive juggernaut featuring the Mannion to Cooks show. Mannion leads the FBS with 29 touchdown passes and has thrown for 2,992 yards! Cooks has been on the receiving end of 12 of those tosses and leads the nation in 1,176 receiving yards. This game could go either way, but I’ll go with the road team. TREES WARD OFF BEAVERS WITH A NARROW 31-30 WIN ON A LATE FIELD GOAL.
No 10 TEXAS TECH (7-0) AT No.15 OKLAHOMA (6-1) The Red Raiders continue to open eyes across the country with an offense that has been led by two freshman quarterbacks. Baker Mayfield and Davis Webb are have guided the Red Raiders to a No.2 national ranking in passing. This week they will face the best defense to date, as Oklahoma comes in with the Top-10 defense, allowing only 17 points a game. The Sooners will ride that stout defense to a victory, SOONER SCHOONER 30, RED RAIDERS 21!
No. 21 SOUTH CAROLINA (5-2) AT No.5 MISSOURI (7-0) Injuries will cause both teams will rely on their backup quarterbacks. Dylan Thompson will step in for Connor Shaw for the Gamecocks, while freshman Maty Mauk will get his second career start for the Tigers. This is a must win for the Gamecocks, as a loss will effectively eliminate them from a chance to appear in the SEC Championship Game. All week the talk out of Missouri has been how they have the better defensive line. I think that motivation will inspire a Gamecock defense that shows up in this one with chips on their shoulders! Jadeveon Clowney makes the difference in this one, GAMECOCKS 26- TIGERS 20.
NORTHWESTERN (4-3) AT IOWA (4-3) This is a big game in the BIG 10 this week. Both teams will be looking to get back in the win column, as the Wildcats have lost three in a row, while the Hawkeyes have dropped two straight. Winner of this game gets a leg up on a bowl game! Quarterback Jake Rudock has been solid this season and provided the Hawkeyes with a passing game that has been lacking! Mark Weisman has rushed for 676 yards to lead the Hawkeye ground game. The Wildcats have suffered several key injuries on both sides of the ball in the past few weeks, and that will come into play here. HERKY GETS A BIG HOME WIN 27-20.
UNDER THE RADAR GAMES THIS WEEK……
TEXAS (4-2 ) AT TCU (3-4) The Longhorns have won three straight after an early season funk. Make it four in a row as Mack Brown has this ship sailing again. Longhorns 24 – Horned Frogs 20
NEBRASKA (5-1) AT MINNESOTA (5-2) Taylor Martinez returns from an injury for the Huskers. He provides a spark, as the Huskers get bowl eligible and remain unbeaten in the Legends division of the BIG 10. Huskers 41- Gophers 21
TULSA (2-4) AT TULANE (5-2) Tulane enters this game at 3-0 in CUSA play, leading the West Division. The Godlen Hurricane have been a disappointment to this point in the season. I expect a second-half surge from team and it starts saturday in New Orleans. Golden Hurricane 33 -Green Wave 17.
